The MBKBeauty Story

“MakeupByKham” started as a dorm room hobby in 2017. Khamry would take clients in her residence hall for $20 flat equipped with less than half of her makeup equipment today. The assembly line of clients gave her plenty of practice and real-world experiences. That year she made the transition from traditional illustrator to makeup artist.

In 2019, MakeupByKham was launched officially. However, just as soon as she got on her feet with her makeup artistry business, COVID-19 abruptly halted operations alongside all other service-based businesses.

Khamry then pivoted her business model to include e-commerce, a way to continue operating in a world where close contact was prohibited.

“I knew I wanted to create a brand that people were proud to support. I wanted to create products that were accessible without having to sacrificing quality. I also wanted people of all colors and genders to feel represented and accepted by MBKBeauty.

Everyone deserves to feel their most bold, bossy, and beautiful selves and I hope MBKBeauty can contribute to that.”

With love,

Khamry
