"MakeupByKham" started as a dorm room hobby in 2017. I would take clients in my residence hall and around campus for $20 flat equipped with not even half of my makeup collection today. I never had any formal training, just endless YouTube videos and trial and error under my belt. That year I made the transition from traditional artist to makeup artist.

I posted my work on Instagram, not thinking much would come out of it. I realized I had potential as more and more clients booked me and decided to take this side hustle more seriously.

In 2019, I launched MakeupByKham.com. The website served as an online portfolio and booking system.

​

In 2020, I launched my e-commerce business MBKBeauty, LLC during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.  I've always known I wanted to start my own cosmetics company someday but never this soon and never under such conditions. 

 

I knew I wanted to create a brand that people were proud to support and promote. I wanted to create products that was accessible without having to sacrifice being vegan or cruelty-free. I want people of all colors and genders to feel represented and accepted by MBKBeauty. 

 

Everyone deserves to be their most bold, bossy, and beautiful selves and I hope MBKBeauty can contribute to that.
